Tapas is the world-renowned focal point of Spain’s vibrant and social culinary scene, which goes hand-in-hand with balmy evenings, indulging beverages, and the good company of friends – new and old. Authentic Spanish tapas are tantalising morsels, made to be eaten one after another, in combination and shared around a table. They range from the deliciously simple to the intricately complex, and their creation and devouring alike can be enjoyed by leisurely first-timers or experienced connoisseurs. In this three and a half hour class, located in West Perth, a passionate and friendly chef will guide the lucky gift recipient through the preparation delectable tapas dishes. Not only will students leave capable of recreating the dishes in front of an admiring audience at home (with the help of their very own complete set of recipes), but they’ll also learn techniques and principles that will leave them better equipped to try their hand at new recipes, and even create their own custom delights – whether Spanish or other cuisines are on the menu. Instead of feeling the pressure alone, students will share a communal table with their new found friends, working together and encouraging each other in a relaxed and social atmosphere, and sharing plenty of laughs along the way. At various times, the aspiring cooks will gather around a demonstration bench, for a masterclass on key components of the meal, and sharing the tricks of the trade that they have acquired over years of experience. Meanwhile, class members can feel free to ask any questions that may pop up along the way. Once the feast has been created, the class will sit around the long dining table to delight in the fruits of its labour in the company of new friends. Students are free to BYO beverages to accompany their meal, and toast to an unforgettable experience! Dishes include: Rioja braised fresh La Boqueria chorizo Australian prawn and avocado escabèche, lime, toasted cumin pan con tomaté (smoky charred garlic and tomato sour dough) patatas bravas (crispy baked bite size potatoes, smoky ‘bravas’ sauce) alubias blancas con hinojo (creamy braised white bean, leek, fennel, manchego) salted dark chocolate and vanilla bean churros balls Students may also bring their own personal aprons if desired, and must wear flat, closed-in footwear, dress appropriately, and tie long hair neatly behind their head. A voucher covers one class for one person. Gifts Australia experience vouchers are redeemable directly with the experience provider with full details provided upon purchase.
