Noosa is home to some of the freshest and most quality produce in the country. The famous Noosa Farmers’ Market, held every Sunday, showcases this gorgeous food – where you can often meet the farmers themselves selling their locally grown produce. This incredible Flavours of Noosa: From Market to Plate, Combined Market Tour and Cooking Class experience, combines a guided tour of the farmers’ market as well as a cooking class to show what can be best done with such fine food. The participants will start with their guided tour of the Famers’ Market; where they will have the chance to be a part of the selection process of the best seasonal fruits and veggies of the time, before heading back to start their cooking class created from the gorgeous produce they have just chosen. Being a fun, easy-going and social atmosphere, the students will gain hands-on experience in their cooking class – helping their passionate and experienced teacher put together scrumptious dishes. Their delicious menu will start with an antipasto platter of local produce; followed by Spanish inspired blistered padrón peppers; then supporting local small cheese business, Cedar Street Cheeserie with grilled Cedar Street buffalo haloumi with macadamia nuts and a lime dressing; before creating a salad with prawns from beautiful Mooloolaba, complete with avocado and a chilli jam and coconut dressing; a scrumptious heirloom tomato salad; and finish it all off with by using local fruits to create a tropical tarte tatin with ginger cream. Perhaps the best part about this entire experience, is that the participants will have the opportunity to sit down together after all their hard work and taste the fruits of their labour. With full sized portions for all, and a couple of glasses of wine each to match, there’s no better end to a gorgeous day of enjoying the best fare Noosa has to offer. Each class begins with a café quality coffee and a freshly baked muffin on the veranda of this stunning Noosa location – with Noosa National Park and a tropical garden surrounding them. At the end of the experience, each student will receive a folder full of the recipes, tips, notes and fact sheets for the scrumptious meals they have just created, so they can easily make it all again at home. This is a wonderful gift idea for the (new or old) local who would love the chance to get closer to their community, or perfect for a visitor to the region – where they can experience the culinary beauty of this part of the world.
